A Typical Day at Preschool

To help you feel closer to your child’s preschool experience, we’ve put together this guide to show what their days are filled with—from play and learning to friendships and fun.

Welcome

Our day begins with a friendly face on the door to welcome your child in each morning, we’re very experienced in being there for them when it’s time to say goodbye.

The children have time to settle in, find their names for the chart and chat to us about all the exciting things they have been up to.

Circle Time

After everyone has arrived we have our Circle time – a time for the children to share their thoughts and ideas, opportunities to count, talk about the weather or day of the week all in both in English and Welsh.

Learning Through Play

They then enjoy some time investigating the activities it may be the indoor climbing frame or obstacle course, sometimes finding the perfect princess dress and sparkly shoes to play families or perhaps creating an airplane using the extensive block play we have.

With  opportunities to spark their imaginations –  painting seasonal flowers,  drawing, investigating wet and dry sand to name just a few.

Snack Time

As a preschool we feel it is important for the children to sit together and enjoy their snack with their peers, creating space and time for the children to communicate with each other, building bonds and connections.

Activities

We may be running a group activity that the children can choose to be involved in – from making cookies to a volcano experiment – anything is possible! Driven by their interests and curiosity.

Story Time

Another opportunity for the children to gather together and listen to a story, the theme is often based on current interests or activities to enhance knowledge and create further opportunities to discuss topics, allowing deeper understanding.

Lunch Time

Lunch time is again an important time for the children to sit and enjoy each other’s company. Developing their communication skills and vocabulary together, with adult support to enhance their experience.

Outdoors

Being outside and enjoying the world around us is a really important part of the day, we know that children learn best when they’re healthy, active and have easy access to fresh air and nature. We often go out twice – into our Nature Garden, to the play park or perhaps a visit to the local pond.

Home Time

Our day begins with a friendly face on the door to welcome your child in each morning, we’re very experienced in being there for them when it’s time to say goodbye.
